Goshen College has been recognized as an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution for the 2013-14 academic year, the national office announced Friday.
The Champions of Character Scorecard measures each institution’s commitment to the NAIA Champions of Character program. Points are earned in five key areas: character training, conduct in competition, character recognition, academic focus and character promotion.
In total, 168 schools were named Five-Star Champions of Character institutions for 2013-14, which requires a score of at least 60 out of a possible 100. Goshen received 81 points on the scorecard for the 2013-14 season, up 16 points from its 2012-13 score.
Goshen was also among several schools that have been recognized as Champions of Character Institutions (2002-09) and Champions of Character Five Star Institutions (2010-14) every year since the inception of the institutional award.
