Eat at local taquerias
With Goshen’s vibrant Latin American population comes some delicious Mexican restaurants. Several of the local taquerias even have special days during which you can get tacos for $1.50 each — you can’t get much better than that.

Bike to the Chief for ice cream
Hop on the Millrace Trail and bike to the Chief, Goshen’s favorite locally-owned ice cream parlor. A single-scoop cone is only $3.75, and they have two special flavors each week plus milkshakes, sundaes and more. Make sure you get there before they close for the season in September!

$1 bowling at Maple City Bowl
Shoes, games and drinks are only $1 each on Thursday nights from 9-11 p.m at Maple City Bowl.

Frisbee Golf at Ox Bow Park
All you have to pay is a $2 vehicle entrance fee to the park, then you have access to a free Frisbee Golf course! You could also check out the archery range, volleyball courts and lots of hiking trails.

50 percent student discount at the Depot
The Depot, a thrift shop run by Mennonite Central Committee, gives 50 percent off to college students with IDs every first Saturday of the month. You can go hunt for clothes, kitchenware, furniture, books and more for a great price and for a great cause.

Art House, Goshen’s independent movie theater, has $3 movies every Monday night. Previous titles include The Revenant, The Martian and Gone Girl.

Rent a canoe, kayak or pedal boat at Fidler Pond
Fidler Pond, part of Goshen Parks and Recreation, has boats available to rent for $10 an hour until October. Bring your own life jacket if you have one!

Buy local produce at the Goshen Farmers Market
The Goshen Farmers Market sells local produce and artisan items and often hosts live music. Visit Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. until October or any Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Starting in September, Goshen Community Contra Dancing hosts events every first Saturday of the month from 7:30-10 p.m., with a beginner’s workshop starting at 7 p.m. Students get in for only $5, or $3 if you’re a member.
