Community School of the Arts announces new Orff-Schulwerk music ensemble for students in grades 2-5
The Goshen College Community School of the Arts is pleased to announce a new Orff-Schulwerk Ensemble for students in grades 2-5, directed by Ashley Unruh.
The Orff Schulwerk method is a student-centered approach to learning music that includes movement, speech, singing and instrument playing. In an Orff-Schulwerk classroom, students learn music through what they do instinctively: play! Students will experience music through a variety of activities, including: creating movements, improvising melodies, singing a variety of music, exploring musical ideas and more.
The 12-session course will meet on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11 a.m. from August 22 until November 15, with a final performance on November 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Tuition is $150/semester. Call 574-535-7361 to register or online at www.gcmusiccenter.org/csa.
