Art exhibit: “Quilts from the Permanent Collection,” Good Library Gallery
From the Mennonite Historical Library, a variety of quilts from Mennonite, Amish, Hutterite and Native American communities that have been recently acquired or never before exhibited. Recent and antique Indiana and Pennsylvania Amish quilts, including diamond-in-the-square: commemorative quilts; friendship quilts; and other patchwork and applied quilts.

Noon, Sound of the Environment, Newcomer Center Room 19
Sound of the Environment is a monthly group discussion of sustainability issues related to business and community. It is people working together to create sustainable business practices and improve efficiencies in our community. The group uses ideas, tools and resources to improve the quality of life in workplaces and homes.

4 p.m., Community School of the Arts spring showcase concert, Sauder Concert Hall, Music Center
Two Community School of the Arts choirs (Rejoice for grades 3-5, Shout for Joy for grades 6-8) will perform in Sauder Concert Hall.
Tickets: $7 adults, $5 senior/students, available at the door one hour before the concert. Free for GC students, faculty and staff with ID.

8 p.m., Taizé worship, Newcomer Center Room 19
The Goshen College community is invited to join in worship utilizing songs and worship forms from the Taizé community in France. All are welcome.

Afternoon Sabbatical Spring Bus Trip – Chicago Art and Architecture
In the morning the group will visit the Frank Lloyd Wright House and Studio in Oak Park to enjoy his amazing architectural style. The group will return to Michigan Avenue to visit the Chicago Cultural Center housed in the beautiful 1897 Library, with its marbled and mosaic interiors and the world’s largest art glass dome by Tiffany. In the late afternoon the group will have a docent-led tour of the highlights of the Chicago Art Institute, including a visit to the recent addition of the Modern Art Wing. Price: $80. 7 p.m., Sandy Hill Vocal Studio Recital, Rieth Recital Hall, Music Center
Community School of the Arts students in the vocal studio of Sandy Hill will present a voice recital in Rieth Recital Hall. Free.

6:30 p.m. Friday-3:30 p.m. Saturday, NatureFest, Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center, Farmstead Site
The annual family-friendly bash includes hikes for all ages and interests, booths with hands-on interactive activities, good food and camping overnight for those who desire. Kids: $5 any time all weekend. Adults: $5 to $15 depending how long you stay.

7:30 p.m., Youth Honors Orchestra Spring Concert, Sauder Concert Hall, Music Center
Performing are the Concert Orchestra (grades 7-9) and Symphony Orchestra (grades 9-12). Conducted by Christopher Fashun, Kyle Weirich and Brian Wiebe.
Cost: $7 adults and $5 seniors and students. Free for GC students, faculty and staff with ID. Available at the door one hour before the concert.

5:30 p.m., Suzuki Play-in and Ensembles Concert, Rieth Recital Hall, Music Center
Student members and ensembles in the Community School of the Arts Suzuki String Program will perform a “Play-In” and recital. Free.

Goshen College’s Administration Building, Church-Chapel, Good Library, Music Center, Newcomer Center and Umble Center are accessible to people using wheelchairs and others with physical limitations.
