This summer, 21 incoming U.S. Latino, African American, Asian American and Native American college students participated in the Goshen College Summer Academic Leadership Training (SALT) program- sponsored by the Center for Intercultural Teaching and Learning (CITL) at Goshen College to help first-year students successfully transition from high school to college.
Goshen College's Class of 2009 received degrees Sunday, April 26 after being encouraged to take a leap of faith by President James E. Brenneman and to have courage and to persevere by Union College President Stephen Charles Ainlay, a 1973 Goshen College graduate.

Chinese artist Hung Liu, an internationally known and acclaimed mural painter will exhibit her art as the 2008-09 Eric Yake Kenagy Visiting Artist in the Goshen College Music Center’s Hershberger Art Gallery from Jan. 23 to March 3. Liu will present a public lecture on Sunday, Feb.
Six Goshen College students will speak Tuesday, Feb. 3 about issues of peace and justice for the annual C. Henry Smith Oratorical Contest. The contest begins at 7 p.m. and takes place in the Umble Center.

Henry Smith Peace Lecture at Goshen College in the Administration Building, Room 28 at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Goshen College Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day on Jan. 19 will begin with prayer and remembrance at the ninth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Prayer Breakfast, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Church-Chapel Fellowship Hall. The breakfast is open to the public and reservations are due by Thursday, Jan. 8.
Bob Yoder, Goshen College campus pastor, and Paul Steury, education coordinator at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, were among the first group personally trained by Nobel Laureate Al Gore to spread the message about the challenges of and solutions to the climate crisis in the faith community.
GOSHEN, Ind. – The public radio station in Elkhart, Ind., WVPE-88.1 FM, has selected essays by three Goshen College students to air the Tuesdays between Nov. 11 and 25 on the ‘This I Believe’ segment of its program. All of the pieces are scheduled to air at 7:35 a.m.
