Three CSA youth choirs to perform in fall CSA Showcase Concert

After moving to Goshen several years ago, Nayo Ulloa, Goshen College adjunct professor and professional Andean flute player, and his wife, Heather, have been finding ways to merge Latino culture into the broader community.
The Goshen College Theater Department will wind together romance, death, humor, whimsy, music and poetry in Sarah Ruhl’s “Eurydice,” a contemporary retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus.
A mother-daughter duo will provide musical samplings from a variety of genres, including musicals, sacred and popular, during the Afternoon Sabbatical performance on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Goshen College will present the eleventh annual musical celebration of Christmas, “A Festival of Carols,” on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. This special celebration of the holiday season will feature four choirs and an orchestra, along with audience participation on traditional carols, all in a concert hall festively decorated with garlands, lights and trees.
Three Goshen College choirs will be joined by a local high school chorus for the annual Fall Choral Concert on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.
A multicultural cast of female students, alums and faculty from Goshen College will present the play Heavenly Voices on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Waterford Mennonite Church in Goshen.
Award-winning novelist and memoirist Reyna Grande will present the 2014 Yoder Public Affairs lecture at Goshen College, titled “Crossing Borders: Immigration and the American Dream,” on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Church-Chapel.
Lyle Lovett will bring his Lone Star state charisma to charm the audience in a Performing Arts Series concert in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Two local choral ensembles will unite under one conductor for a special choral concert. The Goshen College Chamber Choir will join with St. Joseph Valley Camerata, an area professional choir, for a concert on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.
