Goshen College says goodbye to five faculty members

As the 2009-2010 academic year gets underway, Goshen College is without five long-serving, respected professors. Associate Professor of Nursing Fern Brunner, Professor of Physics Carl Helrich, Professor of Psychology Vic Koop, Professor of Mathematics Ron Milne and Associate Professor of Art Judy Wenig-Horswell retired at the end of last school year. Together, they dedicated 138 years of service to the college and its students.

Goshen College professors of nursing and biology retire after 67 years

Their educations began in the same place and their careers ended in the same place. Coincidentally, Goshen College Professor of Nursing Evelyn Driver and Professor of Biology Stan Grove went to the same elementary school, graduated the same year from Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Va., and then both retired this year from 67 years combined of teaching at Goshen College. In the intervening years, their careers have been focused in different directions: one on the world of nursing and the other on the biological world.

Goshen College president announces retirement of provost, appointment of new vice president for enrollment management and an administrative restructuring

Goshen College President James E. Brenneman announced Friday that John D. Yordy, the college's provost and former interim president, will retire June 30. Brenneman also announced that Executive Director of Enrollment Lynn Jackson has been promoted to the new position of vice president for enrollment management and that the president will supervise campus vice presidents starting next month under a new leadership structure.
