New Goshen College president opens school year with words of welcome and grace
After receiving a standing ovation from a sanctuary filled with Goshen College students, faculty and staff, the incoming president, James E. Brenneman, opened the first convocation of the year by noting how the abundant grace of God has sustained and strengthened the college since its beginnings.

In a year when Dr. James E. Brenneman was named president-elect and strong interim leadership both sharpened daily operations and prepared the way for a new administration, giving to Goshen College remained generous for the 2005-06 fiscal year, which ended June 30.
Goshen College’s 16th president celebrates first week in office with a party
After shelving his books in his office and with a full week of work completed as the new president of Goshen College, Dr. James E. Brenneman decided it was time to throw a party. On July 13, he held an "office warming" for all campus faculty, staff and students by inviting them to celebrate this new beginning for him and the college. And while most Old Testament biblical scholars and pastors may be thought of as serious and studious, President Brenneman clearly knows how to appreciate a joyous time.
Goshen team wins documentary contest with film on local immigration
Four Goshen College students were named the winners in a student video documentary competition held by the Peace and Justice Journalism Program, which is funded by Plowshares. Students from Earlham College, Manchester College and Goshen College were invited to submit proposals for 30-minute documentaries.

South Africans continue to pick their way through the debris of apartheid that devastated the country for half a century. During Goshen College's May term, three students and three advisers sorted through the material they filmed during their South Africa spring break trip from Feb. 23 to March 6 choosing clips to show how churches help shape post-apartheid society.

Goshen College announces new campus minister, associate dean of student services and executive director of enrollment
Goshen College is pleased to announce the appointments of two new faculty members and a transition for a faculty member who will be serving in a new role. Lynn Jackson of Maryland Heights, Mo., will join the college as the executive director of enrollment, and Char Hochstetler of Goshen will serve as associate dean of student services. Bob Yoder of Goshen, an assistant professor and director of youth ministry at Goshen College since 2003, will become the campus minister.
Goshen College announces date for Brenneman inauguration
Goshen College is preparing to welcome President-elect James E. Brenneman to campus in July, when he begins his term of leadership, and has announced its plans for inauguration festivities during the first full week of September, highlighted by the installation ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 10.
