Five Goshen College student speakers will continue the college's near-century-old tradition by participating in the 2007 C. Henry Smith Peace Oratorical Contest on Jan. 23 in Umble Center at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Goshen College will honor the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. by holding its 14th annual all-school Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day, emphasizing the values and ideals that characterized King's work, on Monday, Jan. 15. The theme for the day's activities will be "MLK and the Hip-Hop Generation: Bridging the Past and the Future."
