Goshen College is again among the nearly 350 colleges named to the Colleges of Distinction list for 2015-16. The college is one of only seven Indiana colleges and 55 Christian colleges listed.
In 2014, Gilberto Perez Jr. took on a new role in the college’s Center for Intercultural and International Education after two years as an associate professor of social work. He comes to this campus leadership role with a passion for bringing diverse people together and increasing trust and relationships between local law enforcement officials, neighborhood associations, Goshen College and the Latino community.
Karen Zorn ’84 was changed by her Goshen College experience. Now she wants to use music to change the world. As president of the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Boston, she’s been busy realigning the college to better fit its mission, which is to prepare musicians to make a difference in the world through a revolutionary music model called El Sistema.
At the age of 12, Edgar Saucedo-Davila ’11 hated school. Today, he is the first person to graduate from both a Center for Intercultural Teaching and Learning undergraduate cohort and the Master of Arts in Intercultural Leadership program at Goshen College.

NPR recently featured Lalo Cura, a Goshen band that draws inspiration from a variety of musical genres and uses Spanish lyrics to create awareness about social issues facing Latin American communities.
Goshen College recently recognized 170 undergraduate students for excellence in academics on the 2014-15 spring semester Dean’s List. The Dean’s List includes traditional undergraduate students earning at least a 3.75 GPA, while completing at least 12 hours of course work for a letter grade. Only grades from the designated semester are included in the Dean’s List selection process.
FiveCore Media, Goshen College’s video production company, was nominated for a regional Emmy award for its 2013 “A Festival of Carols” video, which aired in December 2014 on PBS stations in Indiana. This is the first Emmy nomination for FiveCore Media and the second Emmy nomination for Goshen College since 2008. An awards ceremony will take place on June 27, 2015 in Indianapolis.
