Goshen College is one of the 353 most environmentally responsible colleges according to The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges. The Princeton Review chose the schools for the sixth annual edition of its “green guide” based on data from the company’s 2014 survey of hundreds of four-year colleges concerning the schools’ commitments to the environment and sustainability.
The College of Wooster Department of Theater and Teatro Travieso will present “Women of Ciudad Juárez” on April 22 at 8 p.m. in Goshen College’s Umble Center. The hour-long performance will be followed by a talkback session with the director and actors.
Four million people are expected to tune in to “A Prairie Home Companion” on Saturday, May 2, which will broadcast live from Goshen College at 5:45 p.m. Garrison Keillor will return to the Sauder Concert Hall stage as part of the Performing Arts Series to present this popular radio show, which airs on more than 500 public radio stations around the world.
Award-winning organist Simon Thomas Jacobs will present a recital of organ works on the Goshen College Music Center’s Taylor & Boody Pipe organ on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Part of the 2014-15 Rieth Chamber Series, the recital will begin at 4 p.m. in Rieth Recital Hall.
Two-time Grammy award-winning Turtle Island Quartet will team up with special guest Nellie McKay to present a delightful kaleidoscope of voice and strings at Goshen College on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Performing Arts Series.
Goshen College faculty, staff and student women will perform stories about friendship, sexuality, body image, trauma and triumph in the second annual Goshen Monologues on Tuesday, April 14. The performance will take place at 8 p.m. in the Goshen College Church-Chapel and is free and open to the public.
Christopher Fashun, assistant professor of music and conductor of the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra, will present a preview of the Spring Pops Concert during the Afternoon Sabbatical series on Tuesday, April 14, at 1 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Mennonite Women USA presented the first Sister Care seminar specifically for college students on March 20-21 at Goshen College, offering a workshop for young women to explore personal healing and recovery in light of faith.
Goshen College’s Pinchpenny Press released four student chapbooks, an anthology of nonfiction essays and a creative arts magazine this month. Pinchpenny Press publishes chapbooks for students, faculty and friends of Goshen College. The program began in 1969 and has since produced 188 books.
Goshen College choirs will present a mosaic of musical offerings during the 11th annual EARTHTONES choral concert on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.
