Fifty years after the first Believers’ Church conference in 1967, more than 150 people representing nearly a dozen different denominational traditions gathered on the campus of Goshen (Ind.) College, September 14-16, to participate in “Word, Spirit, and the Renewal of the Church,” the 18th in the Believers’ Church conference series.
The 2017 Culture for Service Awards will be presented to Sheri Hartzler ’73 and Philip Thomas ’87. The 2017 Young Alumni Award will be presented to Nicole Cober Bauman ’08, the 2017 Dr. Ruth Gunden Champion of Character Award will go to Justine (Clemmer) Pletcher ’72, and the Dr. Roman Gingerich Champion of Character Award will go to Stan King ’61.
Music Together, the award-winning, international early childhood music and movement program, is offering an exciting three-day Teacher Training Workshop at the Goshen College Music Center, October 20-22.

Goshen College welcomes new employees for the 2017-18 school year, some of whom were hired and began their duties earlier this year.
This month, Eugene Stutzman, a fashion designer and 1973 graduate, is returning to Goshen to display some of those designs and celebrate his fashion roots.
As part of the Goshen Write on Sports camp, thirteen students from area schools joined a teaching staff of five to interview athletes, research and publish feature articles, and edit and produce videos over the course of two weeks on GC’s campus.
Following a successful first tour, Goshen College’s Study-Service Theology Term (SSTT) is currently seeking high school applicants for a two-week study experience in Guatemala in June 2018. Students will be provided with the opportunity to explore their understandings of Jesus’ life and mission in light of contemporary challenges and their own sense of calling.
The 2017-2018 Afternoon Sabbatical series at Goshen College will celebrate its 40th anniversary by continuing the tradition of offering a wide selection of events and programs to the community of Goshen.
