During Goshen College's 126th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Glen Guyton, executive director of Mennonite Church USA, delivered an inspiring message, "I Succeeded," to the 182 graduates urging them to focus on, appreciate and celebrate the present moment.
Amidst a growing awareness of neurodiversity in educational settings, Brooke Lemmon, professor of education and director of special education at Goshen College, stands as a beacon of advocacy and support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Goshen College will once again offer a number of summer camp opportunities for youth of all ages interested in athletics, science, theater, film, art, culture and leadership. For all camps listed, the college will provide transportation between Elkhart and Goshen, meals for attendees and cost waivers for eligible students. All camps will be $50 unless otherwise noted.
Each Earth Day, GC students and employees gather to plant trees to maintain the college’s Tree Campus USA designation. Goshen College has received a contribution that will help support the college’s environmental commitments. Goshen College’s Performing Arts Series returns for its 27th year during the 2024-25 season with 10 performances featuring new artists and returning favorites to Goshen. While sharing the common characteristic of virtuosity in their respective fields, these performers comprise a series representing a variety of genres.
On Saturday, March 23, Communication students traveled to Carmel, Indiana for the annual Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) College Awards Luncheon and Indiana Broadcasters Association’s (IBA) Spring Career Fair. The college landed 31 awards, including 9 first place honors across the competition against 14 of the top media colleges in the state. Most notably, GC was awarded the Radio and Video School of the Year by the IASB.
Dr. Jonathan N. Roth, professor emeritus of biology at Goshen College, passed away in Goshen on March 13, 2024, at the age of 86. He taught at the college for 42 years, from 1962 to 2004.
Dr. Beth Martin Birky, associate academic dean and Title IX coordinator and long-time professor of English and Women's & Gender Studies, is set to retire in April after a distinguished career spanning over three decades in Goshen.
