Auditions for Community School of the Arts ensembles to be held in August and September
Auditions for Community School of the Arts choral and instrumental ensembles will be held in the Goshen College Music Center in August and September. Choral ensembles are open by audition for students in grades 3-12, and instrumental ensembles by audition for students in grades 7-12.


Sharpen your navigational skills with Merry Lea’s orienteering program
An orienteering program at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College offers participants a new way to experience the natural world: with map and compass in hand. The program will take place on Thursday, July 24.


Summer Music Week returns to Goshen College
Music Week, a celebrated week-long summer extravaganza for high school choral and instrumental students, will be held June 15-21, 2014, on the Goshen College campus. Artistic directors for the camp are Dr. Christopher Fashun, assistant professor of music, and Dr. Scott Hochstetler, associate professor of music at Goshen College.

Philip Sugden exhibit showcases South Asian inspired art
Although many artists travel to exotic locations for inspiration, not many meet the Dalai Lama on their journey, let alone live as his guest for six months. Philip Sugden, an assistant professor of art at Bluffton University, is among these few.


Pianist, cellist to perform in May 29 recital
Goshen College Community School of the Arts faculty members Brook Bennett, cello, and Luke Norell, piano, will present a recital in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall on Thursday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m.


Phil Keaggy concert at Goshen College to benefit MDC Goldenrod
Phil Keaggy, multiple Dove award-winner and perhaps one of the most admired guitarists in music today, will give a benefit concert in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from this family-friendly event will go to support MDC Goldenrod’s work providing services to individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities.


Students to showcase a medley of musical theater pieces
Goshen College theater students will present an evening of musical theater selections on Sunday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Goshen College’s Umble Center.


Spektral Quartet and Julien Labro return to Goshen to unveil new album
Spektral Quartet, one of the nation’s fastest-rising young string quartets and ensemble-in-residence at the University of Chicago, returns to Goshen with accordion and bandoneon phenom Julien Labro, playing a fun and fiery program of South American jazz and tangos. The concert is set for Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.


Goshen Music Together program to host family sing-along events with special guest “Uncle Gerry” Dignan
On Saturday, May 17, Goshen College will host two family sing-alongs planned especially for young children (birth–age eight) and their families. Families may choose to attend either of these identical free events at 9:30 or 11 a.m. in the GC Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.
