GC students bring new life to Mozart’s comic opera ‘Figaro’
Disguises, cross-dressing, mistaken identities and people jumping out of windows are all par for the course in Mozart’s energetic, light-hearted romp through the day of a wedding ceremony. The Goshen College theater and music departments will collaborate to present the composer’s comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro” in Umble Center on March 28, 29 and April 4 at 8 p.m., and March 30 and April 6 at 3 p.m. (ASL interpreted).

The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra and New York Voices will unite to recreate the magic that won them the 1996 Grammy Award for their inspired collaboration, “Live at Manchester Craftsmen's Guild,” as part of the Performing Arts Series on April 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in Goshen College’s Sauder Concert Hall.

The 16th annual Goshen College Student Academic Symposium will be hosted in Goshen College's Church-Chapel on Saturday, April 5, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Nature and the Arts workshop gathers diverse artists around a common love of nature
If you’ve secretly dreamed of taking a weeklong artist’s workshop in an exotic location, but have never had the time, the money or the courage, the Nature and the Arts weekend at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College is an appealing alternative. This 25-hour immersion in the arts, which takes place Friday, April 4, 7 p.m. to Saturday, April 5, 8 p.m., features three tracks: Nature Photography with Paul McAfee and Dave Dornberg; Creative Nature Writing with poet Ann Hostetler, an English professor at Goshen College; and Drawing to Printmaking with Dr. John Blosser, professor emeritus of art at Goshen College.

Explore how Paul overcame religious, cultural and physical obstacles as a leader of the first generation of Christians during Goshen College’s Afternoon Sabbatical on April 1 at 1 p.m. in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Irish literature and music focus of S.A. Yoder Lecture April 1
Irish-born and London-based husband and wife poets Cahal Dallat and Anne-Marie Fyfe will present Goshen College’s annual S.A. Yoder Lecture on Tuesday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. The event, “An Irish Literary Festival,” will take place in the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.
