Area schools gather on campus for Science Olympiad regional tournament on Feb. 8
Science Olympiad teams from 13 area middle and high schools will gather on the Goshen College campus on Saturday, Feb. 8 to compete in nearly 40 events, including robotics, forensics and sounds of music, for the annual Science Olympiad Regional Tournament.


Goshen College and Fort Wayne Philharmonic team up to teach and entertain
Spring collaborations between the Music Center and Fort Wayne Philharmonic include Fort Wayne’s FREIMANN musicians presenting chamber music this Sunday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. in the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall, and the Philharmonic’s Performing Arts Series concert in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall on Friday, April 11.


Merry Lea to host “Witness through Storytelling,” a women’s spirituality retreat
Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College will host its second women's spirituality retreat, “Witness through Storytelling,” from Friday, Jan. 31 to Saturday, Feb. 1. The retreat will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday.


The King’s Singers to return to Goshen College on Jan. 31
The world-renowned British a cappella group, the King’s Singers, will return to Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the college’s Performing Arts Series.


Members of Fort Wayne Philharmonic to perform at Goshen College
Principal members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will bring their talents together for a chamber concert on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall. The ensemble, named Freimann, will present chamber works for solo winds, strings and piano in unusual combinations as part of the 2013-2014 Rieth Chamber Series.


Anthony Brown to bring the story of Paul Robeson to life at Goshen College
Musician, peace activist and 1971 Goshen College graduate Anthony Brown will kick off the college’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration events with a performance centered around the life of Paul Robeson on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Goshen College Umble Center.


Women’s vocal ensemble to bring harmonies to Goshen College
Moira Smiley & VOCO, a women’s vocal ensemble, will present their diverse repertoire ranging from American folksong to Eastern European music on Friday, Jan. 17. The visiting artist concert will take place at 7:30 pm in Sauder Concert Hall in the Goshen College Music Center.


Author, quilter to speak at Goshen College
Author, quiltmaker and Goshen College graduate Janneken Smucker will be on campus on Jan. 13 and 14 to speak about her new book, “Amish Quilts: Crafting an American Icon,” which explores how Amish quilts evolved from practical bed linens to contemporary art. The book was included in the New York Times Holiday Gift Guide for 2013.


Goshen College students to present art exhibit around theme of ‘Lion & Lamb’
Goshen College students will focus on the theme “Lion & Lamb” for a Student Art Show, which is on display until Feb. 1 in the college’s Good Library Gallery.
