Artwork by painter and 1994 Goshen College graduate Ann Marie Nafziger will be on display during Homecoming Weekend in Goshen College’s Hershberger Art Gallery. An artist talk will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 at 4:30 p.m. with a reception following at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Workshop examines sustainable agriculture in Goshen
Community members are invited to learn more about why the Merry Lea Sustainable Farm was named third best college farm in the country at a workshop Saturday, October 3, entitled, “Sustainable Agriculture at Goshen College,” in Newcomer Center Room 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is part of Goshen College’s homecoming weekend.
Five alumni honored during 2015 Homecoming Weekend
The 2015 Culture for Service Awards will be presented to Kathy Short ’75 and Aliko Songolo ’68. The 2015 Young Alumni Servant Leadership Award will be presented to Sonia Graber ’00. The 2015 Dr. Ruth Gunden Champion of Character Award will go to Alice Gunden Bender ’80, and the Dr. Roman Gingerich Champion of Character Award will go to Ken Pletcher ’70.
Author and filmmaker Mike Tidwell to speak on climate change Sept 29-30
Mike Tidwell, author and filmmaker who predicted in vivid detail the Hurricane Katrina disaster in his 2003 book “Bayou Farewell: The Rich Life and Tragic Death of Louisiana’s Cajun Coast,” will present the 2015 Yoder Public Affairs lecture at Goshen College on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Church-Chapel.
