Goshen College faculty voice recital RESCHEDULED for Feb. 3
Three members of the Goshen College Music Department will present a faculty voice recital in Rieth Recital Hall on Friday, Jan. 23. Performing will be Scott Hochstetler, baritone, and Rebecca Dengler Kaufman, mezzo-soprano, with pianist Christine Larson Seitz. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m.


Soroka and Hill to perform faculty recital Jan. 30
Goshen College music faculty members Solomia Soroka and Matthew Hill will present a recital of works for violin and piano on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.


Sculptor Bob Emser to explore fascination with flight in 2015 Eric Yake Kenagy Visiting Artist lecture
Bob Emser, a sculptor and aviation enthusiast, is the Goshen College Art Department’s 2015 Eric Yake Kenagy Visiting Artist and will deliver a public lecture on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall, with a reception immediately following in the Music Center’s Hershberger Art Gallery. The presentation and reception are free and open to the public.


Merry Lea to host “Out of the Whirlwind,” a women’s spirituality retreat
Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College will host its third women's spirituality retreat, “Out of the Whirlwind,” from Friday, Jan. 23 to Saturday, Jan. 24. The retreat will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday.


Goshen College seeks young creative thinkers for 48-hour Global Game Jam
Goshen College seeks programmers, artists, musicians and writers to participate in the 2015 Global Game Jam (GGJ), the world’s largest game creation event, Jan. 23-25.


GC grad Bruce Hostetler to present Umble Master Class
Director and graduate of Goshen College (1988) and Bethany Christian High School (1984) Bruce A. Hostetler will present the 2015 Roy H. Umble Master Class on Jan. 20-24, featuring workshops, a keynote address and a reading of his newest play “Feral.” All events are free and open to the public.


Annual MLK Study Day at Goshen College seeks to advance intercultural action
Goshen College students, faculty and community members will focus on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and explore the theme “Be Brave, Show Grace: Advancing Intercultural Action” during the MLK Day celebration events on Jan. 18 and 19.
Voices-n-Harmony Concert
7-8:30 p.m., Umble Center. Free and open to the public. Leading up to Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day, Goshen's gospel choir, Notre Dames's Voices of Faith gospel choir, and other local gospel artists will perform. There will be a dessert reception after the concert.


Merling Trio to perform Hungarian music at Goshen College Jan. 11
The Merling Trio, an international ensemble in residence at the School of Music at Western Michigan University, will present a concert in the 2014-15 Rieth Chamber Series on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.
