A sophomore at Goshen College, Sadie is studying music and communication. She sees herself as a performer or doing something that combines her love of community and music.
Stop by Rachel’s Bread on a Saturday morning and you’ll find a hub of activity: friends meeting for coffee, families enjoying a European-style breakfast, and Goshen Farmers Market shoppers stopping by for a sweet roll for the road. The boulangerie is Rachel Shenk’s '80 vision to create food and drink that “feeds the spirit as well as the body.”
As the mayor of Goshen, Allan Kauffman (GHS ‘67, GC ‘71) has worked to continue a strong relationship between the city of Goshen and Goshen Community Schools.
Now the superintendent of Goshen Community Schools, Diane began her education career in Puerto Rico.
Goshen College’s award winning radio station, The Globe, provides students with the opportunity to develop their broadcasting skills while working for a station regularly named the Best College Radio Station in Indiana and the Best College Radio Station in the Nation.
Steve and Phil Thomas are two brothers who have made it their life’s work to help people get along, both in the city of Goshen and around the world.
Merit Learning Center Principal Kristen Watt was raised in Goshen, she cares about its community and she’s passionate about the success of its students. The Merit Strategy embodied in her school helps students gain the confidence they need to not only succeed academically, but to contribute to the greater good of the community that has embraced them.
Ignition Music Garage is a staple of Goshen’s downtown scene. A music store, radio broadcast center and concert venue in a transformed former mechanic’s garage, Ignition offers a way for people “to listen to music the way artists intended it to be heard.”
As the multicultural outreach community liaison for Goshen College’s Center for Intercultural and International Education, Sylvia Rocio Diaz answers families’ questions and spends her days helping people see how education can change lives.
