In 2017, I was the vice provost for undergraduate education at Cornell University, facing the hardest career decision of my life. Should I leave a familiar and prestigious university I love, to lead a small college that I also love? As you know, I chose Goshen. I continue to choose Goshen, and here’s why.
During Homecoming Weekend festivities, Goshen College announced the launch of the public phase of “Connected Cause: The Campaign for Goshen College” and seeks to raise a total of $68 million in new gifts for this comprehensive campaign by the end of 2026.
One of the beautiful aspects about a liberal arts college is the multitude of questions being asked by our students and faculty, as well as the variety of approaches used to pursue them. A liberal arts education affirms the breadth of our curiosity and liberates us from fear of our questions and the answers we might find.
