Leaving Managua, Arriving in Jinotepe
This morning we packed up our bags from Casa San Juan and headed to Casa Goshen in Jinotepe, where we live. We will gather at this house every Monday for lunch, and a group time of reflection and discussion, as well as lunch one other day each week.
We continued our orientation by going over the academic syllabus, followed by a wonderful lunch. Then we divided into 3 groups for a walking tour of Jinotepe. Each student group was given a map and instructed to find key locations. Then we took microbuses to nearby Diriamba, where six of our students will be living, going via Dolores where 5 other students will live. After a brief walk to Parque Central, we rode back to Casa Goshen on mototaxis with time to rest and relax before host families arrived to take students to their new homes. More about host families and pictures in a future post.
