Let’s dance

Learning Peruvian culture means learning Peruvian dancing.  Dance instructor Pedro Farias came to teach us dances from the three regions of Peru: the coast, the Andes mountains, and the Amazon jungle.  Each region had very distinct dance moves, which the students learned in short segments and then pieced together into a complete dance.  Several dances required substantial athleticism.

The next morning all the students were sore.

The students came to understand why they needed to stretch before dancing.
Dance instructor Pedro Farias had different dance actions for men and women.
Lane nearly sprained his ankle doing this kick.

This grand finale was the most exhausting.
