Study Week 1: Jan.15-19

Students attend classes at Buen Pastor Anglican Church, with lectures, quizzes and discussions in the morning, followed by lunch and Spanish class.  On Thursday they visited the Shipibo indigenous community in Lima where they painted traditional designs on cloth and were served plantain with juane, a rice dish named for the head of John the Baptist. On Friday the group traveled to the south edge of Lima where they worked in a community garden and tasted anticucho, chicken and beef heart skewers.
