Printing & Mailing has a number of opportunities for on-campus student employment. Typical roles in the department include;
- Printing Technicians – Students in this role track print job requests, operate the commercial Canon digital presses, finish jobs in the bindery area by cutting, stapling, and gluing, and ensure customers receive a high quality product. Skills learned in this role include advanced document manipulation, pre-press preparation, and using software to merge documents and mailing lists.
- Mailing Technicians – Assist the Mailing coordinator by processing mailing lists through our mailing software application, run the high speed addressing machines, handle daily business mail, ensure accurate postage using the postage meter, handle departmental shipping needs
- Office Assistants – Students function as customer service agents, handling interactions with customers, answering questions, training customers on departmental software applications, handling clerical tasks and assist with processing printing and mailing jobs
