Ancient London, Modern Chinatown

Yesterday we visited the Museum of London. The museum was divided into sections based on the early times of London to the present. Despite there being many important time events in London’s history, I was more drawn to the evolution of the currency and the archeological findings. Coins have taken various shapes and forms throughout history. One of my souvenirs from London is simply the currency, pounds in coin and bill form.

After the museum, I went to Chinatown to see if it was anything similar to the one in Chicago. I found many restaurants and some shops. One of the areas was called Kingly Courts which was a three-level outdoor space for restaurants. Also, I found a small cupcake shop run by two sweet girls. The cupcakes were good! I got a red velvet cupcake.

Later I experienced my first football game at a pub with at least thirty fans. The game was Arsenal vs Tottenham. We were cheering for Arsenal but unfortunately they lost 3-0. I do not follow soccer and rarely have watched any, but the experience I had made me want to start! It is definitely a unique experience to be surrounded by fans all around the world. I even lost my voice the next day.

It was a night of singing and cheering despite losing. So far, I am having a blast here, and I look forward to the coming week! I am sad that we are already halfway through but going out with a bang as a graduate.
