Arrival in Guatemala
Since it’s after 1 a.m., we’ll be brief this evening. We arrived on SEMILLA’s beautiful campus and settled in about an hour ago, and all is quiet now. We’ll be up for an initial session at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow, then have breakfast.
Today was filled with checking out of the dorms; saying goodbye to the handful of local students’ families, who dropped by the college for their farewell; receiving several forms of blessings for the journey; being taken by bus to Chicago for our first flight; and traveling to Panama City, Panama, and then on to Guatemala City.
Students were troopers throughout the trip. We can’t imagine a better group of respectful, positive, go-with-the-flow high schoolers. We feel quite fortunate. Looking forward to all that tomorrow will bring, when we get our first glimpse of Guatemala and the seminary campus in the daylight.
