What in the world are WE doing?
For several years we have been looking closely at our campus electrical usage and finding ways to back off. Five years ago our annual electrical consumption was over 7.6 million kilowatt hours. As of this October that number has dropped to under 5.5 million kilowatt hours. That is a 28% reduction.
The last time our annual consumption was this low was in early 1994, over fifteen years ago. That was before the RFC, College Mennonite Church addition, Music Center, Apartments, air-conditioning in the residence halls, and the Connector. This graph shows our electrical usage since 1991 alongside with the amount of building space of our campus.
