Language
In Tanzania, you will learn to speak Swahili, which is an official language of the country. Swahili is a Bantu language whose grouping (Niger-Congo tree) contains as many as 500 languages, which are commonly spoken east and south of Nigeria in central Africa, east Africa and southern Africa. Swahili was influenced by Arabic and also contains vocabulary from such languages as Persian, Malagasy, English, German and Portuguese.
It is also considered to be a lingua franca as it is accepted and used as a second language between communities for cultural exchanges and diplomacy.
