They are here!

23 students arrived safely tonight in Dar es Salaam!  Their flight landed a few minutes early in Dar es Salaam from Arusha.

During the day time with everyday heavy traffic it can take more than 2 hours to get to the airport.  But students arrived in the evening, and today was a holiday (Zanzibar Revolution Day).  After loading luggage on the bus we sailed downtown in under 20 minutes.

Students settled in to simple rooms at the YMCA at the edge of the the old city.  They’ll be at the Y for two nights.  We’ll have some orientation and explore the city on foot and by bus. On Saturday afternoon students will meet their Dar es Salaam host families and go home with them!
