“He’s the hardest working, best sports caster I’ve ever worked with.” That’s what Mike Hoffman, chief meteorologist, said about Angelo DiCarlo. DiCarlo is a sports caster at WNDU.
When DiCarlo was young he loved sports so much that he would memorize and copy the sports page and scores. DiCarlo said about his job, “It’s fun. You get to do a lot of cool things.” He enjoys broadcasting sports like football for Notre Dame.
DiCarlo’s brother, Al, who is 13 years older than him, inspired him to become a sports caster. Al works as an assistant sports director. “We work together a lot,” said DiCarlo. Al even got DiCarlo his first job at TV2 when DiCarlo was only 16 years old. DiCarlo recalls that it was a very stressful day of his career. He had to manage the camera and teleprompter by himself for 30 minutes. But his passion for the job and energetic personality kept him going.
