Goshen,IN- On Wednesday July 9,2014, Write On Sports went to interview Angelo Di Carlo at the WNDU studios. One of the things he talked about was that he enjoys traveling, “I’ve been to Nashville and Denver and a lot of cool cities,”said Angelo Di Carlo. He also says that even though you work very hard, at the end of the day you don’t get paid a lot. He said that if he were to pick another job he would choose to be a lawyer because they get paid well.
The factor that Di Carlo said is the hardest is that it takes a lot of work. For Angelo Di Carlo he takes something that may be hard and turns it into something that is fun. For instance he said,”The most enjoyable part too, is that you get to run around crazy trying to send the information.” If you are a sport’s reporter it’s tough according to Angelo Di Carlo. He says that when a game is over in time and doesn’t go into over time, that is really helpful, but if it did then there is a problem. The story should take about two minutes and then you have to send it. There was one incident when a game went into over time and Di Carlo was hurrying to type and send the information. When it finally sent he whispered into their earpiece and told them that it sent and that they should look for it. Then he started running around the office because he was so excited that it sent in time. He said,”People looked at me like I was crazy, I am.”
One thing that he does miss for sure is his family. He said,”As much as fun sports are, it’s more fun to watch them.” His mom even calls him right before his show which starts at 6:17 and asked,”Hey are you off today?” Also since he is a reporter he rarely gets the holidays’ off because he has to work on most of them. A question that came up was,”If you had to describe yourself in one word what would it be?” His response was,”If I had to describe myself in one word it would be, energetic. Then Mike Hoffman, the chief meteorologist WNDU came in and Di Carlo asked him what he thought. Hoffman said,”Yes, energetic to be nice. No I would say that Angelo Di Carlo is the most hardest working news caster here.” While we were leaving he started handing out his card and said,”Get a card so that you can remember to follow me on twitter!”
