“As much fun as it is to broadcast sports, it is more fun to watch sports.”
Angelo Di Carlo is an energetic sports broadcaster at WNDU studios with a sense of humor. He interviews high school and college sports teams for a living.
Di Carlo truly started loving sports at the young age of 4. He would copy down the entire sports page and read it to his older brother. Then, he began working in his home town, Allentown, Pennsylvania, for TV2’s high school sports game broadcasts. Di Carlo then went on to graduate from Syracuse University.
“Syracuse is definitely the biggest and the best.”
Di Carlo has pros to his job and of course cons. “It takes lots of hard work,” said Di Carlo. “This job involves some give and take and its hard.” It takes about an hour to plan out a three minute sports broadcast because of his dedication. His love for sports really influences him to do this because when you get the chance to interview the Notre Dame football team, you take that chance. The adrenaline is major. “It’s a fun rush,” Di Carlo said. In the end, Angelo Di Carlo enjoys his job and his personality makes his coworkers love him too.
“He’s the hardest working, best sportscaster I’ve ever worked with,” said Mike Hoffman.
Di Carlo knows it too. “People looked at me like I was insane; I am.”
