Today Write on Sports (wos) interviewed Goshen College alumni Errick McCollum. McCollum was in Las Vegas Nevada for the NBA summer league. McCollum will be trying out for the Denver Nuggets, but before the NBA he was playing over seas in Europe.
This past season in Europe McCollum led the European Cup in scoring with 20.2 points per contest. He also led the Greek league’s top division in points per game which was 17.7, and was named the Greek league’s most important player.
A couple of years ago when McCollum got to Europe he thought to him self, “Oh my goodness, what have I gotten my self into?” But after a little while in Europe McCollum really started to love Israel. Especially from a religious standpoint.
He also mentioned that he had never been outside of the U.S until playing in Europe, so the whole time in Europe was a great experience for him.
As of now McCollum is ready to take the court and prove him self for the Denver Nuggets.
“If you are discipline and you work hard you can do it.”
“Anything can happen.” And with McCollum’s determination and skill set it would be no surprise to see him in a Nuggets uniform in the 2014-15 NBA season.
