Today, WoS interviewed Gaby Romo about her soccer career. Romo was six when she started to play soccer. She would go outside and play with all of the aggressive boys. “That’s why I am used to all of the bruises.” said Romo. Romo has four brothers.
As she was growing up through elementary she keep practicing soccer. Later on she found out that there was a soccer team in elementary school, so she signed up and got in. Then, in middle school and high school, she keep practicing and found out that there was a soccer team there too so she signed up and got in. Then the middle school coach told her in high school to sign up for club soccer, so she did.
After, playing some games a coach from IPFW saw her play and told Romo’s coach to tell her that she should come to Cincinnati to watch and play some games. The coach told her that she had a chance to go to IPFW, and she could go to the college for a while to see if she would like it and if she did, she could go there. After, a while of going there the coach said that she had one month to say yes or no. She thought about it that night and she told the coach the next night that she had decided yes.
Now, she has the opportunity to go play for the Mexican U-20 team and play soccer . So she signed up and she is still waiting for the call.
