To Joe Hart fan experience is everything. Since Hart can’t control what happens on the field he wants the fans experience to be the best it can be. Though the president of the South Bend Silver Hawks has a staff of only 13 he manages to get a lot done. From public speaking events, to selling sponsorships Hart does all he can to get the best experience possible for the fans.
Since Hart doesn’t have much power over the player’s decisions, he can’t control how the game goes. “We’re in the entertainment business,” said Hart. Hart wants to make an impact on the community and he thinks that giving the fans a good experience not only on the field. In the past few months Hart has had the Silver Hawks players volunteer at restaurants and children’s hospitals. That not only gives the fans a good experience with the Silver Hawks so that they will want to watch games, it helps the community, and to Hart that is all part of the fan experience.
Hart thinks that the fan experience is the most important part of minor league baseball. Upon going to a Silver Hawks game I had a great experience. There were many things to do other than watch the game, bounce castles, shops, and games were just the beginning. The importance of having a good fan experience was not just something that was talked about, it was put to action. And that is what makes the difference between watching the game and experiencing the game.
