Angelo Di Carlo is a very successful sports anchor for WNDU. Di Carlo was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. When Di Carlo was around 5 or so his big brother wanted to be a sports reporter and little Di Carlo loved to punish his brother so Angelo got up at 7 am and read the entire sports section of the newspaper to his big brother. When Angelo Di Carlo was 16 he did his first unexpected news story. It was on a story of a young man who died in the war against Afghanistan. That is when he realized he didn’t want to be a news reporter, he wanted to be a sports anchor because he didn’t like reporting on sad stories such as those.
If Angelo Di Carlo wasn’t a sports anchor he would be a lawyer because that way he could persuade people, which as Di Carlo put it, “It’s almost the same you just make a lot more money.” (He was referring to being a lawyer.) Di Carlo talked about playing golf if he ever had free time, and he said that would be a more regular thing if he wasn’t a sports anchor. He loves being a sports anchor and quitting isn’t going to be his mindset for a long time. One very chilly night when he was at a football game doing the news he couldn’t feel his tongue because it was -8 degrees with the wind chill. You could notice he couldn’t talk very well and decided he would just go on and hope at least half of the viewers could understand at least something he was saying.
Di Carlo graduated college 10 years ago at the age of 22 earning his bachelor’s degree as a sports director. He would commentate over the radio for live games that were happening and even earned the title “The Voice Of Pennsylvania.” His favorite sport to commentate over was football. Di Carlo is always working day in and day out, he would be at a sports event and after the game would race back to the WNDU studio to put together the video in very little time which could be as low as 30 minutes. Angelo Di Carlo is always working hard to give you a laugh and make you smile.
