I think the Write On Sport’s camp is an amazing opportunity to learn more about writing. I never knew what those little stories on the newspaper’s were called and I found out they were called, ” spot stories.”
We always have fun even when its work time. Not to mention the AMAZING lunch! Everyday after lunch, we always go outside and play physical activities with the group. Leading to that, I even learned the meaning of teamwork. We took 2 great trips to Notre Dame University, ( first time) and a South Bend Cubs game. (Also first time) So we can just say I did a lot of things I have never done before. We even have our own blogs to write on! And e even write our own spot stories about the athletes!
Interviewing the athletes was a pleasure to me. I never knew of how humble they were. They defiantly showed me how being a regular college student can escalate to being a CBA star, or A Notre Dame basketball player.
When i joined this camp, I didn’t know anything about athletes on NBA, CBA, or even WNBA. We met athletes from Notre Dame, and we even face timed a basketball player from the CBA. I love to create things and I finally got to make my own 2 minute clip movie. It took a long time to edit, and import the clips but the process was amazing. Lastly, We even got to meet Angelo Di Carlo from WNDU! We got to see how they get the backgrounds in the back, (AKA a green screen) and much more.
Going to the Cubs Game was my first time ever going to a baseball game. I will even say the field is huge! I have also never been to Notre Dame and it was the biggest college I have ever seen! To conclude, I have had an amazing time learning as much as I can about writing, learning more about my group, meeting new athletes, trying new things, and going new places I have never been to before. I don’t regret joining this camp and I know you will not either!
