Malik Zaire was supposed to be the starting quarterback for Notre Dame this past school year, but a terrible injury left him sitting the bench.
Malik decided to attend Notre Dame, because it, “presents the opportunity of a lifetime.” He says that the people you get to meet there are amazing. You could have a roommate from across the country, or even across the world. “I couldn’t pass that up,” Zaire says.
“It hurt,” was Malik’s response, when asked about the moment of his injury. Even though it put him out a season, he says, that it gave him time to evaluate his progress. It also made him realize who had his back at a time like this, and he could build his team.
Now, he is back at it, in hopes of playing again. Although, he doesn’t necessarily care if he starts. “It’s important for me to just contribute to the team.” And he will contribute, hopefully just as much or more as last year.
