On July 11, 2018, Write On Sports interviewed Sam Fisher. Sam Fisher is a Notre Dame Student athlete. She plays soccer for Notre Dame’s Womens Soccer team. She appeared in 20 of Notre Dame’s soccer matches. She also scored two goals as her season high to a 4-3 big win against Florida State. Sam is a great soccer player, Notre Dame is lucky to have this girl on their team.
Sam started playing soccer at the age of five. She grew up watching her older sisters soccer games. Soon after, she just fell in love with the sport. Fisher went to Grace Brethren High School. She was an incredible player in high school. Her high school career high in goals was five goals in one game! Her coach in high school always told her, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” She said that quote would always motivate her. In high school she had a rival that she played in soccer. Her rival’s name was Kate O’Connor. Sam mentioned that she hated Kate. But that all changed when Notre Dame signed both Sam and Kate. Now they are best friends and are teammates on the soccer team.
Sam was a phenomenal freshman in college and her former coach, which is Coach Romagnolo, said, “Sam brings the unique ability to break down defenses with her passing or dribbling. She is an offensive threat out of the midfield and has showed herself to be a big goal-scorer out of that position.” Write On Sports reporter, Jeremiah Henderson, asked Sam a question and the question was, “What professional player do you think you play like?” Sam answered with a great answer, “I love to dribble so I think I play like Messi.” Sam finished her freshman season on the All-ACC Freshman team. That is a very good achievement to have. All this information is a great example why her hard work beats talent. This is Jeremiah Henderson from Write On Sports.
