On July 16, 2018, Write on Sports interviewed two former NFL players and a former sportswriter named Braxston Cave, Trevor Robinson, and Vince Turner. They came to the Newcomer Center and we interviewed them at Goshen College. Braxston and Trevor played for Notre Dame in College.
Trevor was born in Kearney, Nebraska in 1990. He started playing football in 3rd grade at 8 years old. Trevor and his family went to a lot of Nebraska games. Trevor said, “I was very excited to watch that game.” Trevor did track and played football in high school. He had a lot of scholarships and he narrowed it down to three colleges: Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Michigan. He decided to go to Notre Dame and that is where he met Braxston. He got a bachelor degree in Business. Trevor’s dad wanted him to go to Notre Dame because of the academics. He was 300 pounds, now he is 249 and he is 6’5.
He was undrafted and then he signed to a professional contract. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, and Atlanta Falcons. He retired in 2017 to be with his family and now he has a job with Braxston and they work for Lippert Components. His wife had twins and they were sick and someone had to take care of them. This was going to take a long time so he decided the best decision was to retire. He retired when he was only 27 years old.
