July 11th, 2018, the Write on Sports, interviewed three student athletes from Notre Dame. We interviewed Kate O’Connor, Sammi Fisher, and Zack Martin. Kate O’Connor and Sammi Fisher are women’s soccer players For Notre Dame, but they used to be enemies. Ms. Fisher and Ms. O’Connor are both midfielders.
Kate O’Connor started playing soccer when she was only five years old. She grew up in Coto De Caza, California. Sometime in 2015 she joined the So Cal Blues, and in 2016, the team was classified as the best women’s soccer team in the nation. Sammi also started playing soccer when she was five years old. She grew up in Simi Valley, California. She joined the Real So Cal’s in 2015. With both girls coming to Notre Dame though, they quickly became good friends.
Both girls came to Notre Dame for the same reason: academics. Both Kate O’Connor and Sammi Fisher also decided on studying business. Turns out these two rivals have a lot in common. They also get to play the sport they love. BONUS!
