On July 11 2018, Write on Sports interviewed three athletes named Kate O’ Conner, Sammi Fisher, and Zack Martin. We traveled to Notre Dame to interview those three people. Kate and Sammi are a sophomore in College and Zack is a Junior in College.
Sammi grew up in Simi Valley, California with her parents and her two older sisters. Sammi is 19 years old. She started playing soccer when she was five years old. She told Write on Sports, that she is a black belt in Taekwondo. Sammi played soccer in a club called Real So Cal ECNL and they played against there rivals So Cal Blues and Kate was on that team. Sammi said “We would play against each other.” and they hated each other. “I hated her.” Then they both came to Notre Dame and now they are best friends.
In high school she scored 72 goals and was named All-Tournament First Team. Her club team won the 2016 ECNL national championship. She graduated from Grace Brethren in 2017 and played soccer in high school. Sammi was named a scholar athlete. Sammi is studying Business. She went to Notre Dame because of the athletics. “Notre Dame is known for the athletics.” Notre Dame picked Sammi because she is a good player and doesn’t give up.
