Vincent was born in Nakuru, Kenya. He is 21 years old. Before coming to Goshen he was studying at Monroe College in the Bronx’s, New York. He is studying Business as his career choice.
In his middle school years, he played soccer. He said, “I liked playing for running, skill, but mostly just for the running, I like it very much”. He also played rugby for a little bit in high school. His friends were telling him to join Cross Country because he was very fast and his coach told him to try it out.
He started doing Cross Country with his friend that motivated him to keep going and not to quit. When he went to college in New York, he didn’t like that much so he tried to find somewhere else. That’s when he found Goshen College. That is where he met his new coach Rustin Nyce.
His fastest mile is 4 minutes and 27 seconds. He has done a 5000 meter run and came in 4th place. That is very good. He has made it to nationals and said, “I did well, I’m proud, but my dream is to become a pro, and to have a gold metal around his neck and to feel how many champs feel when they win.”. He has only had a few injuries, but minor ones like twisted ankles and some spasm’s but nothing serious.
In his seasons, Coach Nyce said, “He has the best form out of everyone and only uses one pair of shoes per season”. Which is not that much if you look at others who go through many, like 5 or more!
