On July 10th, we interviewed Chris Finke, a wide receiver for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. We went to Notre Dame to interview him. He is known for many things such as his huge catch over two defenders in Notre Dame’s 2018 season opener which lead his team to a win over their rival, the Michigan Wolverines.
On September 1st, 2018, Chris Finke made the history book. Sure, a 43-yard touchdown grab is impressive, but what is even more impressive is that he mossed two defenders in the end zone on a risky throw. The touchdown brought the Fighting Irish to a 14-0 lead, which lead them to win 24-17.
Chris didn’t start on the starting bench. In his high school years, he played football at Archbishop Alter High School. One of his teammates from his High School is safety Nick Coleman who is going to the Oakland Raiders next year as a free agent. A scout went to Chris’ high school to recruit Nick. He also told Chris he could join the team as a walk-on. When Chris went to Notre Dame, he was a walk-on and didn’t see any game action the whole year. However, he got better over time and now is a starter for Notre Dame.
After he finishes his Masters next year, Chris plans to go to the NFL combine and get drafted. If not, he has a fallback plan with his degree in financing. Chris is also is a co-founder of a shirt company called Jake Max that helps the disabled.
