Write on Sports had the privilege of interviewing Kyle Hufford on July 9, 2019. Kyle has been at Goshen College for 7 years. When we asked him if he likes his job he said: “I enjoy my job. It’s fun to work with students and be able to do a variety of things, not just sports.” When he was talking about cameras he said that when the red dot is on it means that it is airing live so you know which camera to look at when you are on.
When he got into broadcasting games live he said that basketball and soccer were the easiest for cameramen. He said it’s just one camera going back and forth all the time and then there are other replay cams all over the field and court. Then, he said baseball is the hardest, because you are switching cameras all the time when there is action. He said the hardest job in football are the replay cams because you have to get all the action.
Goshen College would like to start broadcasting games live on TV. When I asked them how would they promote it, he said they already have an established audience. He also said that they would promote it on social media the most. It was a great experience for everyone and I learned a lot from him. This is Elisha Rauch from Write on Sports.
