Yesterday Write on Sports (WoS) interviewed Angelo Di Carlo at the WNDU16 studios in South Bend, IN. As a first impression Angelo seemed very energetic and seemed to really enjoy his job as a weekend anchor and sportscaster. Angelo seemed to have a very youthful spirit, especially when he took a “selfie” with all of the members of WoS. When his co-worker Seth Conley was trying to talk to him, Di Carlo cut him off and said, “Hold on Seth, I’m tweeting.”
When Angelo was a kid he would copy down the entire sports section in the paper and wake up his older brother by reading him the box scores from all of the games. He definitely brings that enthusiasm to his job at WNDU16. Di Carlo told us about what happened when Tim Lincecum threw a no hitter a couple of weeks ago during the sports broadcast. Di Carlo was running around the studio trying to get the story in before the broadcast ended.
“The other people in the news station were looking at me like I was crazy. Which I am!”
Angelo also told us that if he could describe him self in one word it would be “energetic.” Mike Hoffman, chief meteorologist at WNDU, added on to that and said, “He’s the hardest working, best sportscaster I’ve ever worked with.”
Di Carlo’s energy and effort around the WNDU station makes him a great sportscaster.
