Gaby Romo came to Write On Sports today and we interviewed her. Romo is a soccer player, and she has been playing soccer ever since she was 6 years old. She plays college soccer at IPFW. She plays forward/mid-field.
She played at Goshen High School. When she was in middle school, before she made the team, she would just play soccer with boys and she was the only girl. She got more used to bruises and yelling by playing with the boys. She played soccer so well that she played club soccer and so she had to train long and hard.
Gaby does not like any other sport except soccer. She told us how you have to practice, but you also have to get good grades because if you don’t have good grades you can’t go to practice, and when you don’t go to practice you can’t play in the next soccer game.
Soccer affected Gaby’s grades freshman year in college because for her it was different than high school.
When she was asked about who she looked up to as a soccer player she said “Cristiano Ronaldo.”
