Bonzie Colson started from a small town and made it to the big stage on the basketball court. Having his dad with him along the way has definitely helped him to get to Notre Dame. Throughout his childhood his dad had helped him with becoming the amazing athlete he is now. As Colson said his dad taught him all the bascics that you need to become a good basketball player. And all the training throughout his life has helped to become the amazing basketball player he is today.
Now that Colson is on his Sophomore year in college and Grant and Connaughton are not playing at Notre Dame anymore and have been drafted he expects to be a team leader and to be more productive on the Norte Dame basketball team. He expects a lot out of himself because the key role players aren’t there so he wants to score more and make less turnovers when playing and also he wants to lead the team to victory this year.
“If it wasn’t for teammates no one would ever be successful” Colson said.
After the tough loss to Kentucky Colson said that it was very disappointing for the Notre Dame team, after the game everyone was disappointed and was sad that for the seniors it had to end like that.
“In the locker room after the game it was very quiet and everyone looked stunned,” Colson said.
But now that they are back into training and working hard they are now motivated to try to get even farther into the tournament than they did last year. And one of the people that will help them win would be coach Brey, to help push them to get in the gym and get better. Colson is looking for one of the main roles this season to try to be one of the people that push his teammates to get better and for him to get better as well. And even thought the main seniors are gone, Notre Dame basketball team is still a force to be reckoned with.
