Rex Pflueger a six foot, six inch guard for Notre Dame is constantly working in the gym and in the classroom. “The best part of Notre Dame is the people,” Pflueger told reporters when asked about why he chose Notre Dame. “Growing up I’ve always valued athletics and academics.”
He is working very hard on his game as a whole. “All aspects to be honest,” on what part of his game was he working on the most. He also talked about his aggressiveness as something that he needs to work. The first two years he was content to be a roll player, but now he’s working to be a star. “I just watch basketball as a whole.” He also is working on moving to the next play after a mistake. “You can beat yourself.
Rex is also known for making one of the most important buzzer beaters in Notre Dame’s history. Second round of the NCAA tournament. Notre Dame was down by one. The ball came of the rim and Rex jumped and tapped the ball back up and in.”It came to being in the right place at the right time.” Rex told reporters. That is kind of true, but not completely. All the work he had done to be able to tip the ball in would have helped. He has played competitive volleyball which would help with tip ins. He was put in the games as a defensive specialist, but when the time came to shine, Rex was there to make a huge offensive play.
He is human which means he does have to recover from the wear of being an athlete. The team has a routine of things to help their bodies, like massages and other rehab things. “We just implemented yoga, big fan of that.”
Rex Pflueger is a very humble hardworking athlete who hopes to make it to the NBA.
