“Either Lakers, New York, Dallas or Chicago” is where Rex Plueger said he would want to play someday. But for now, Plueger is a 6’6 senior guard for Notre Dame. In Pfluegers high school years playing with Mater Dei and playing on famous AAU team Compton Magic. His flashy passing and his 3 point range combined for a 4-star recruit scout by Cal, Washington, Texas A&M, San Diego St, and Notre Dame where he would sign on September 9, 2014. Pflueger said “Notre Dame or San Diego State” was the 2 schools he was deciding between. Pflueger said “I went to San Diego St to visit and fell in love with it, then I went to Notre Dame and knew it was the right choice.”
Growing up in Southern California, Pflueger fell for the Los Angeles Lakers and began to watch Kobe’s game. When asked Plueger said “Kobe was too much of a one man show to mirror my game off of I would say Chris Paul or just Klay Thompson’s footwork and also saying that he was more of a play maker.” Pflueger worked very hard every day to play the game he loved. Plueger originally wanted to play football and basketball but, neither high school allowed him to. With long amounts of thought, he chose basketball and the rest is history.
