As Bob Toews continues his career as the assistant director of institutional research and the Academic database manager. Bob is also in stair racing. “its a small sport”, said Toews. Stair climbers like bob don’t just run up your ten to fifteen steps up to the second floor to you house, they run up skyscrapers up to one hundred floors.
“My very first race was in 2006”, he said. Him and his son raced together in 2006. Toews also has a wife and a daughter. Bob is 54 years old.
In most races you are timed by a timing chip that is tied to you ankle. You usually stay on the inside of the stair case unless someone is coming in faster than you are behind you. Most people that are in this sport have very good sportsmanship.
Toew’s next race is in LA at the US Bank building. It is hard sometimes to get good training in sometimes, thats because most big buildings have security systems. Bob had got connected with a coach that helped him in Colorado.
His personal best is at the US Bank Building in downtown LA, he did it in around 13:00 minutes. “The building that race in doesn’t have to be tall for you to be cool”,exclaimed Toews.
